Sustainability
About the Pillar
Sustainability Programme is dedicated to positioning Singapore as a regional hub for innovative sustainability solutions. As one of the world’s largest polluting industries, fashion faces increasing pressure to adopt meaningful and scalable approaches that mitigate environmental impact. In response, SFC works closely with a growing network of sustainability-focused companies, organisations, government agencies, and communities across the entire fashion value chain to drive collective action.
This pillar focuses on enabling system-level transformation by bridging industry insights, enterprise capabilities, circular infrastructure, and evolving consumer behaviours. Through a range of targeted initiatives, SFC addresses key gaps within the ecosystem while strengthening Singapore’s role as a catalyst for sustainable fashion across ASEAN.
Impact Retail
A three-year consumer-facing initiative designed to educate, empower, and inspire individuals to embrace more conscious fashion choices.
Fashion and Apparel Sustainability Transformation/ Sustainability Readiness Intelligence (FAST/SRI)
SFC advanced industry transformation through a data-driven ASEAN Fashion Sustainability Sectoral Plan developed with South Pole (Sep 2025–Mar 2026). The study engaged 50+ stakeholders and benchmarked Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia to assess sustainability gaps. Findings revealed uneven progress in data, recycling, and waste management. The plan will provide a practical roadmap focused on policy alignment, circular infrastructure, and shared access to data and technology.
