Ms. Zhang Ting Ting is a familiar face to many as she has been serving as the Director of Sustainability in Singapore Fashion Council (SFC) for the past months and we are excited for her to move into a bigger role as the Chief Executive Officer of SFC.

 

With a diverse background in architecture, design, supply chain, and e-commerce and with experience in global organisations as well as dynamic start-ups, Ting Ting previously held significant roles in global sourcing strategy at Li & Fung, a renowned fashion retail and supply chain conglomerate based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, she gained invaluable experience and training at Zaha Hadid Architects in London, where she focused on pivotal cultural projects.

 

In 2022, she became part of Arkki Singapore, where she currently holds an advisory position. In this role, she contributes to the implementation of an award-winning curriculum from Finland that seamlessly integrates sustainability with design-thinking coaching.

 

Ting Ting occupies pivotal roles in various committees, leveraging her expertise to forge robust connections between academia and industry. As a member of the ITE Design and Media Academic Advisory (DMAAC), she contributes to enhancing the synergy between educational institutions and the professional sphere. Additionally, her appointment as a cross-cutting enabler for The Earthshot Prize Expert Advisory Panel underscores her commitment to driving impactful change on a global scale, tackling pressing environmental challenges with innovation and insight.

 

Furthermore, Ting Ting’s influence extends to recognizing and celebrating excellence in design through her role as a Juror of the Singapore Good Design Awards (SG Mark) 2024. In this capacity, she brings her experience to honor outstanding design achievements, thus elevating the standards and recognition of Singapore’s design landscape. Through her multifaceted engagements, Ting Ting exemplifies a dedication to fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence across diverse domains, leaving a lasting mark on both local and global communities.

 

Ting Ting’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from NUS, a Master of Architecture from Cornell University, and an MBA from Oxford University. SFC looks forward to witnessing her continued success in her new role as CEO and to continue this momentum to establish Singapore as an innovative, sustainable, and culturally rich fashion hub.

 

Jesline Wong

Director, Marketing and Partnerships & Engagement

Jesline is passionate about Marketing and Communication.  With an extensive and diverse background spanning more than two decades, she has honed her skills in the fields of education, telecommunication, and finance.  In her previous roles, she managed and provided vital support to a private education institution, overseeing both its business operations and marketing and communication strategies, even extending her expertise to the institution’s overseas campuses in Malaysia and Central Asia.

 

With 17 years of experience in leadership roles within dynamic and fast-paced environments, Jesline has come to understand that leadership is not solely centred on teamwork, but also on trust. Drawing from her experience in driving business operations, marketing communication, diverse media relations, and public relations settings, Jesline aspires to make a meaningful contribution to the development and support of the Singapore Fashion Council.

 

Jesline holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Bradford, UK, and a Master of Arts in Education from Bangor University, UK.

Huey Chyi, Tan

Director, Sustainability

Motivated and result-oriented engineer by profession, having extensive experience for 20 years armed with global and regional exposure across different key functions, with a focus on sustainability and related activities, for instance, materiality assessment, carbon accounting, climate risks, wastewater treatment, sustainability communications and reporting frameworks such as GRI, ISSB IFRS S1 and S2, and TCFD. Huey Chyi is a passionate practitioner of embedding sustainability strategies into business to achieve brand, sales, and profit targets. She is a firm believer in collaboration and partnership with stakeholders to deliver value and drive impact.

 

Prior to joining SFC, Huey Chyi held senior roles in corporations, led different projects, and achieved various milestones by working with partners and working teams, which included the contribution of water filter systems to Southeast Asia countries in times of natural disaster, the delivery of technical training to textile mill operators on wastewater treatment, reuse, and recycle etc.

 

Huey Chyi holds a Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge, UK, and a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the National University of Singapore, Singapore.

 

Leonard A.Choo

Director, Industry Development & Internationalisation

Leonard is an internationally acclaimed costume designer, fashion consultant, curator, and educator based in Singapore. Leonard has designed costumes for dance, opera, theatre, and film, notably serving as the principal fabric shopper for the New York City Ballet costume department for 12 seasons, contributing to over 75 unique ballets.

He has designed for Singapore Ballet, Pangdemonium Theatre, Singapore Repertory Theatre, W!ld Rice, among other local and international companies. Leonard has also worked with the Juilliard School Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Ballet Academy East (New York), Barrington Stage Company, and Opera Omaha, as well as television shows like Gotham (FOX) and Crashing (HBO).

Leonard has curated La Veste at the Alliance Française Singapour, and lectures at notable institutions, including the Arkansas Arts Centre, National Library, and Lasalle College of the Arts.

Holding of a Master in Fine Arts from Boston University, Leonard is the first and only costume designer to be honoured with the Singapore National Arts Council Overseas Arts Scholarship in 2011.

Niharika Chaturvedi

Throughout her career, Niharika has been recognised for her ability to navigate complex challenges with ease, connect cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Niharika holds an MBA in Marketing and Finance and has received several prestigious awards, including the Everest Award in her previous role at Railsr and the Top Performer Award for her exceptional achievements during her consulting days at Robert Walters.

Julynn Tay

General Manager, Design Orchard

Julynn is the General Manager for Design Orchard Retail Store (DORS), and brings with her more than a decade of retail management experience, ranging from MNCs, SMEs to start-ups, spanning the fashion, beauty and FMCG industries.

Her myriad of experience gives her new and wide perspectives and ideas, often juxtaposing the best ideas in new context, thereby creating unique solutions and retail experiences. Julynn is a goal-driven team leader with a positive and can-do attitude who is highly motivated to achieve breakthrough results. At the same time, she firmly believes her role is not only to achieve results, but to mentor others on a journey of self discovery and development while achieving personal fulfilment and satisfaction. She enjoys coaching and building relationships with her team, built on her philosophy that the role of a leader is to help her team do their jobs better.

Lily Hamid

Acting General Manager, Design Orchard

She has since expanded her expertise into commercial strategy, business management, and team leadership, making her a multifaceted leader. Her dynamic approach and strategic insights have consistently driven growth and enhanced brand visibility for top-tier companies in the retail and hospitality sectors.

 

As the Acting General Manager at Design Orchard, Lily leads a talented team dedicated to driving growth, boosting brand visibility, and cultivating strong customer relationships within Singapore’s competitive retail landscape. Her team is currently spearheading transformative initiatives, including the rollout of DORS’ new rebranding and the launch of an innovative AI-powered e-commerce platform, all while preparing for a game-changing 2025.

 

Through these strategic projects, Lily and her team are committed to enhancing the customer experience, fostering innovation, and solidifying DORS’ position as a premier multi-label retailer in the local fashion industry.

Rachel Tian

Director, Finance

Rachel is an experienced finance professional with a diverse background across global organisations. She began her career at one of The Big Four accounting firms, laying a strong foundation in financial expertise. Subsequently, she transitioned to multinational corporations, where she played a key role in optimising business processes and financial strategies.

Rachel’s experience includes significant contributions at Sateri, a global leader in viscose rayon, where she led initiatives to enhance business processes and implement SAP. In her role at B&Q, a renowned UK-based home improvement retailer, she managed China’s strategic planning and financial reporting, ensuring robust financial oversight in a competitive market. Most recently, she served as the head of financial planning and analysis for Avon in Asia, part of the Natura Group. In this capacity, Rachel worked closely with cross-functional teams and country commercial teams, leveraging her strong business acumen and passion for data analytics to drive revenue growth, protect margins, and secure cash flow.

An advocate for continuous improvement, Rachel is always seeking new ways to streamline business operations. She has successfully led efforts to enhance business planning and budgeting processes while standardizing management reporting across multiple functions. Proficient in performance management and reporting tools such as Hyperion and Tableau, she is also deeply invested in exploring the potential of AI to uncover valuable business insights and inform decision-making.

Rachel holds an MBA from Peking University Guanghua School of Management. In addition, she is committed to understanding the evolving landscape of sustainability, having pursued certifications in Sustainability Accounting and ESG Investing to help organisations manage sustainability-related risks, opportunities, and financial reporting.
